Dr Shireen Saluja is a passionate Clinical Psychologist, Autism advocate, and the Founder and Director of Buckinghamshire Psychology. Accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS) since 2012, Dr Saluja has dedicated her career to championing neurodiversity and empowering children, women, and families to thrive.
At the heart of Dr Saluja’s work is a deep commitment to Autism and ADHD, with particular expertise in supporting high-masking children and women who are often misunderstood, overlooked, or diagnosed later in life. She is widely recognised for her compassionate, strengths-based approach, helping individuals not only to understand their neurodivergence but to embrace it with confidence, clarity, and self-worth.
Dr Saluja completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Midwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, and brings a wealth of clinical experience from both the NHS and private practice. During her seven years in the NHS, she worked extensively within Rheumatology and Pain Management Services, as well as providing emotional and cognitive support to individuals with acquired brain injuries. This background has shaped her holistic understanding of the mind-body connection and the complex ways trauma, pain, and neurodiversity intersect.
Her work primarily focuses on children and women, supporting those experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem challenges, and relationship issues. Dr Saluja specialises in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD in both children and adults, alongside therapeutic support that is affirming, validating, and empowering. She is particularly skilled at working with children aged 2–18, advocating for their needs across home, school, and wider systems.
A proud advocate for neurodiversity, Dr Saluja finds deep fulfilment in challenging stigma, educating families and professionals, and creating spaces where neurodivergent individuals feel seen, understood, and celebrated. She is bilingual in Hindi and Punjabi, enabling her to support families from diverse cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and inclusivity.
Dr Saluja is trained in a wide range of psychological assessments, including cognitive, memory, trauma, and personality measures. However, it is her warmth, authenticity, and unwavering belief in her clients’ potential that truly defines her work. She is known for helping children and women recognise their strengths, develop emotional resilience, and reclaim their power in a world that often asks them to mask who they are.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr Saluja enjoys drawing, travelling, and spending quality time with her family. She brings joy, creativity, and heartfelt dedication into everything she does and genuinely loves being a psychologist.
Through her advocacy, clinical leadership, and lived passion for neurodiversity, Dr Shireen Saluja continues to inspire change—one child, one woman, and one family at a time.
“Therapy is a journey; my job is to be your guide. A journey that often leads to power, strength and change.”
Don't just take our word for it

I can only give the highest of praise for the treatment I have received from Dr Shireen Saluja and Dr Ravi Gill here. I have been receiving treatment for a number of complex issues for some time, and the patience, kindness, understanding and unconditional support I have received from both of these therapists over the course of my therapy has been crucial in my ongoing treatment. I have had therapy in the past, but I have never felt as comfortable or safe as I do in that environment. I also feel I have progressed further in this therapeutic setting than I have with anyone I have seen previously. Both of these fantastic therapists have vast knowledge and understanding, and I would highly recommend this service to anyone that is in need of this form of support - you would not regret sessions with either of these therapists.

Dr. Shireen Saluja at Buckinghamshire Psychology Ltd. is absolutely amazing! I was very nervous about seeking therapy but she took time to make me feel understood and comfortable. It is by far the best choice I could have made for myself. If you need to talk to someone, I genuinely hope you go to her. I am so happy that I did! I have been seeing Dr Saluja over four years now privately and through the NHS . Dr Saluja has been and still is a massive support to me, dealing with many issues. She has a lovely, caring, easy going manner which makes you feel completely at ease, especially when discussing difficult issues. My son also benefited from having some sessions and found Dr Saluja extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this type of therapy.
